The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for Windows versions 2.0 and 2.1 - Microsoft Excel for OS/2 versions 2.20 and 2.21

Summary:

Microsoft Excel versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 do not allow for different border weights.

More Information:

In Microsoft Excel version 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, the border of a column chart cannot be formatted as both wide and dotted around a column. Only a solid border around a pattern can have a wider (heavier) line. All dotted-style borders require a normal border weight. When you choose a dotted line style in the Format Pattern dialog box, the line weight automatically defaults to a normal weight. Selecting a heavier line weight causes the line style to default to a solid line style.
