SYMPTOMS

If you use multiple displays with your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, and you change the target monitor setting (under Show on in the Set Up Show dialog box), this change is not retained after you close your presentation, even if you save the changes made to your presentation.

NOTE: To display the Set Up Show dialog box, click Set Up Show on the Slide Show menu.

WORKAROUND

If you don't want the slide show to appear on your system's default monitor, use either of the following methods:

  • Use the Set Up Show dialog box to specify an alternative monitor before viewing the show.

-or-

  • Switch whichever monitor, projector, or other output device is plugged into the computer's display output, so that the default is the one that you want.

NOTE: This step assumes that you are familiar with your hardware and its limitations. Please consult your hardware documentation or hardware vendor before unplugging or reconfiguring any hardware components on your computer.
