SYMPTOMS

The seconds field is truncated and reset to 00 in the time or date field in the Site Server Membership directory database. For example, if you add the Last Date Visited attribute to your properties, and then set the time to include a seconds value, when you close the Properties dialog box and reopen it, the seconds field is not saved, but is reset to 00.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Site Server service pack that contains this hotfix.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Site Server 3.0.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. From the Site Server Microsoft Management Console (MMC), open the Membership Directory Manager to the members container.
  2. Create a new member, and then add the Last Date Visited attribute.
  3. Modify the Last Date Visited by clicking the associated Select button, and then modify the time to include a seconds value other than double zero (00).
  4. Click OK to close the Time/Date dialog box, and then click OK to close the user's Properties dialog box.
  5. Open the the user's Properties dialog box again.


Result: The seconds field is not saved, but reset to 00.
