SYMPTOMS

If you try to use Web Publishing Wizard (WPW) to publish to a personal Web page with Microsoft FrontPage extensions, WPW recognizes authentication using the membership directory but may be unable to redirect the Web content to the correct user location. Therefore, any attempt to publish is either unsuccessful or the Web page is published to the root location of the hosting Web site.

CAUSE

Web Publishing Wizard does not work with the personal Web page filter.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use FrontPage for publishing.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard version 1.0 for Windows NT 4.0.
