SYMPTOMS

When you create a .UDL file from the context menu or you edit a .UDL through the Properties context menu, the .UDL file disappears from the disk when you change and save the .UDL file.

CAUSE

A virus scanner program is running.


RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use any of the following methods:

  • Edit the .UDL file by double-clicking the .UDL file.


  • Choose Open instead of Properties from the context menu.


  • Disable your virus scanner while you modify the .UDL files.
