INTRODUCTION
The Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes does not support Lotus Notes encryption or Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (S/MIME).

This behavior is by design. Both messaging systems support S/MIME individually. However, you cannot use the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes with S/MIME. Currently, this is a known limitation in Domino and Exchange Server coexistence when using the Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes.
