XWEB: Find Names Dialog Box Closes When New Message Form Is Closed

Article ID: 255362

Article Last Modified on 2/26/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q255362

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later to gain access to Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) and open a new message form, if you click To, Cc, or Bcc, the Find Names dialog box is displayed. If you close the new message form, the Find Names dialog box also closes.

You may not want the Find Names dialog box to close automatically with the message form. For example, if you are looking for names in the Find Names dialog box, you may decide that you do not want to use the current message form, but you still do not want to lose the search results in the Find Names dialog box.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can use the Find Names dialog box without opening a new message form by clicking the Address Book button. However, the Add recipient to section in which you can click To, Cc, and Bcc is not available if you use the Find Names dialog box that is generated by clicking the Address Book button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
