This article was previously published under Q255329

SYMPTOMS

When you view a contact e-mail address in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Outlook Web Access (OWA), the address is displayed twice with the second address in angle brackets (<>).

When you view the details of the contact with OWA, the E-mail field appears as the following

"test@unknown.com" <test@unknown.com>

when it should appear as:

test@unknown.com

CAUSE

This behavior only occurs if the contact is created with Microsoft Outlook 2000. If the contact is created with OWA, the e-mail address is displayed correctly.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
