SYMPTOMS
When you view an e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), there may be a one minute discrepancy between the time that the message was sent or received when you view the same message in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
CAUSE
When you view a message in OWA, the sent and received times are calculated to the second, but when you view a message in Outlook, the sent and received times are calculated to the minute.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Exchange 2000 Server.
MORE INFORMATION
Outlook 2000 rounds the minutes for the sent or received time to the next minute when the seconds are more than 30. The OWA client rounds the minutes down. For example, if a message was sent at 1:11:31, the sent time would be 1:12 in Outlook, and 1:11 in OWA. A message that was sent at 1:11:29 would display as being sent at 1:11 in both OWA and Outlook.
