ACC2000: Error Message When You Try to Link a Password-Protected Paradox Table

This article applies only to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb).


SYMPTOMS

When you try to link a password-protected Paradox file from an Access 2000 database by using the Paradox ISAM, you may receive one of the following errors:

Unexpected error from external database driver (10498).


-or-

Invalid Index Definition, so delete the files ending in .yg*, .xg*, and .val.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, either obtain the "ParadoxFile" ODBC driver version 3.00.00.05 from Intersolve, or obtain the latest Jet 4.0 service pack from the Microsoft Download Center.
