Internet Connection Dropped Immediately After Connecting to ISP |

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to establish a connection to your Internet service provider (ISP), the connection may appear to be successfully established, but after a few seconds the connection may be dropped. When this occurs, you may not receive any error message.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the IP Security (IPSec) policy for TCP/IP is set to Server (Request Security) or Secure Server (Require Security).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
- Right-click the icon for your ISP, and then click Properties.
- Click the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
- Click Advanced, and then click the Options tab.
- Click IP Security, and then click Properties .
- In the Use this IP Security policy box, click Client (Respond Only) or Do not use IPSEC.
- Click OK or Close until all dialog boxes are closed.
