About Mind Mapping
Mind Mapping is a visual method for taking notes and generating ideas. The technique, developed by Tony Buzan in the late 1960s, is based on research into memory, intelligence, creativity, and the general working of the human brain. This research indicates that using right-brain functions (color, dimension, shape) together with left-brain functions (words, numbers, linearity, analysis, lists) can dramatically improve memory and creative thinking.
Initially, students used Mind Mapping as a method for taking notes and recalling information easily. Today, it is also used by business people, academics, and others for problem solving, planning projects, preparing for presentations, and other activities involving the thinking process.
The result of Mind Mapping is a Mind Map, which contains key words-and even images-linked to associated words and images.
