SYMPTOMS
When you delete one instance of a recurring item which uses Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) code, Outlook may stop responding.
CAUSE
The problem is caused by the difference between recurring items which use VBScript and recurring items which do not. If the item uses VBScript, it cannot release the reference to an object when you delete an instance of the recurring item. This may cause Outlook to stop responding or hang.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
