XCCC: Netscape Users Are Prompted to Start a T.120 Client When Joining an Exchange 2000 Conference

Article ID: 254057

Article Last Modified on 2/27/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

This article was previously published under Q254057

SYMPTOMS

If you use Netscape Navigator, when you attempt to join an Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server conference, NetMeeting may not start automatically. Instead, you may receive the following message:

Please make sure your T.120 client is running and click on OK.

After you start NetMeeting or another T.120 client and click OK, the conferencing server calls the NetMeeting program to request that you join the conference. After you accept the call, you join the conference.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because Netscape Navigator does not support the Xcliacc.dll file, which provides the ActiveX functionality that embeds NetMeeting into the Web page. Because of this limitation, Netscape users must participate in the conference by using NetMeeting or another T.120 client.
