BUG: Unable to Launch Platform SDK Documentation |

SYMPTOMS
When you activate the shortcut to the Platform SDK documentation, the documentation does not open. Instead, the "Open With..." associations dialog box appears.
CAUSE
In some cases, a previous installation of Office 2000 results in an incorrect file association with the ".col" extension. This is the extension for the HTML Help collection that the Platform SDK documentation uses.
RESOLUTION
To correct the file association problem, you should use this procedure:
- In the "Open With" dialog box that appears when you try to start the documentation, click the Other button. Find the file Hh.exe in your Windows directory and select it.
- Enter the description, "HTML Help Collection", and continue. The Platform SDK documentation should then open.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
