SYMPTOMS

When you install MCIS 2.5 SP1, the following error message occurs:

Setup did not detect MCIS2.5 installed on the machine

WORKAROUND

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To resolve this problem, add the following registry keys and values.

To add the registry values, perform the following steps:

  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MCIS25

  3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry values:

    Value Name: InstallTo
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Value: <drive letter>:\MCIS25

    Note: Make sure to replace <drive letter> with the correct drive letter for your system.

    Value Name: ProductVersion
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Value: 8.0.344.0
