SYMPTOMS

When you use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove the Microsoft IntelliPoint software version 3.1 or later versions on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, you may receive a dialog box that contains the following error message:

Digital Signature Not Found

The Microsoft digital signature affirms that software has been tested with Windows and that the software has not been modified since it was tested.

The software you are about to install does not contain a Microsoft digital signature. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this software works correctly with Windows.

PS/2 Port Mouse

If you want to search for Microsoft digitally signed software, visit the Windows Update Web site at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to see if one is available.

Do you want to continue the installation?

If you click Yes, you can remove the IntelliPoint software in the usual manner.

If you click No, the process of removing the IntelliPoint software proceeds in the usual manner until your computer restarts, when this occurs your pointing device may stop functioning.

Note When you click No, you may receive a dialog box stating that the Ipfilter.sys file has not been removed. You may receive this warning multiple times (one time for each pointing device that is connected to your computer). When your computer restarts, the system tries to find and load the Ipfilter.sys file, because the reference to it still exists. If you click More Info, you receive a dialog box that contains the following message:

More Information
