SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to save a sound using the Sound Recorder tool, you may receive the following error message:

Cannot open "drive:\path\wavefile.wav"

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the file you want to use is currently selected in Windows Explorer and Web View is enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, click to select a different file in Windows Explorer or click Save As on the File menu to save the file using a different file name.
