SYMPTOMS

If a TAPI Service Provider generates a new line device dynamically, the new line device cannot be "seen" by remote TAPI clients until the server is restarted. For example, this could occur if a PBX is configured to add a new line device for a new employee's phone.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
