FP2000: How to Publish a Remote Web to a Local Computer

This article describes how to publish from an Internet or intranet Web server to your local computer.

To publish a remote web to your local computer, follow these steps:

On the File menu, click Open Web.




In the Folder name box, type the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the remote web.

For example, if your Web site exists on the Internet at http://www.myweb.com/myweb, or on the intranet at http://myweb, then type the appropriate HTTP address in the Folder name box.




Click Open.




To publish the open web to your local computer, click Publish Web on the File menu.




In the Specify the location to publish your web to box, type one of the following locations:




  • The HTTP address of your local Web server using the loopback address:
  • The name of your computer on the network:
  • A file path to create a disk-based web:

Click Publish.
