SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to select Microsoft FrontPage as the default HTML editor in Internet Explorer, it may not be available in the HTML editor list on the Programs tab (on the Tools menu, click Internet Options).

This behavior occurs even though FrontPage is installed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because FrontPage is not yet registered as the default HTML editor.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, register FrontPage as the default HTML editor:

  1. Start FrontPage.
  2. Click Yes when you receive the following message:

Microsoft FrontPage is not currently your default Web page (HTML) editor. Would you like to make it your default editor?

  3. Restart the computer.
