Using ALT+X with Speed Key Gives “Key Code Not Defined”

PSS ID Number: Q25277 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

MS-DOS

Problem:

In a Word Versions 3.x, 4.00, and 5.00 style sheet, avoid assigning key codes that start with the letter X. If you define a key code that starts with an X, you cannot use Word’s built-in speed formatting keys. When the speed formatting key is used, the error message:

Key code not defined

will appear.
