SYMPTOMS

When you specify text to be dimmed after an animation effect in your slide show, you may notice an outline of the text or text bullets is visible after the dimming effect has been applied.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.

Use the Hide on Next Mouse Click Custom Animation

If you want to make the bullet or line of text disappear when the next line or object is animated, click Hide on Next Mouse Click instead of choosing a color in the After animation list of the Custom Animation dialog box.

Use a Different Color for the Dim Effect

Select a different color in the After animation list of the Custom Animation dialog box. (Lighter colors work better.) This outlining effect is only noticeable if you select a color in the After animation list that is close to your background color.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000.
