SUMMARY

When you try to save a Connection Agreement (CA), you receive the following error message in either of the following scenarios: Failure to get a site name (DsGetSiteName function), or you are using improper permissions.

An error has occurred while saving the Connection Agreement credentials with the security authority on the responsible ADC server for this Connection Agreement. Please ensure that the account you are logged in as has permissions to administer the ADC service.

When a CA is saved, it makes a call to a Windows 2000 function, DsGetSiteName. This call can fail if a subnet is not properly defined.

By default, during a DCPromo operation, there is a default first site and a default subnet. By default, all new and existing domain controllers (DCs) belong to the default subnet. As soon as a second site is created, a subnet must be defined. If a subnet is not defined, the servers may not be linked to the original default subnet, and the DsGetSiteName function does not work, which causes the CA not to be saved, and the error message to be displayed.

Therefore, to save a CA, you must define a subnet, and correctly configure the sites.
