XADM: Exchange System Manager Accepts Asterisks (*) in Domain Names

Article ID: 252127

Article Last Modified on 2/26/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q252127

SUMMARY

Exchange System Manager enables you to create domain names with an asterisk (*) in the mid-name space. For example, "test.*.com" is acceptable to Exchange System Manager when you create a new SMTP connector.

MORE INFORMATION

The expected action is that the Exchange System Manager only accepts entries with an asterisk at the beginning, similar to "*.microsoft.com".

This behavior is by design.
