XFOR: Chat Stops Responding When the Computer Runs Out of Memory

SYMPTOMS

When a Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 server runs out of memory, the chat services (Chatsvc.exe) either stops responding (crashes) with exception 0x00000FD at location 0x00486217, or it causes the server to freeze. If the server freezes, you must use Task Manager to stop the chat service.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
