XFOR: Information Is Omitted When Forwarding Phone Message from Notes to Exchange

Article ID: 251949

Article Last Modified on 2/27/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q251949

SYMPTOMS

When you forward a phone message from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the check box information is not included and the phone number is displayed as the fax number. The message looks like this:

From: Notes User on 02/21/2000 01:09 PM
To: Exchange User/Site@Exchange

While You Were Out Contact: Charlie Chung of: Microsoft Corporation Phone: FAX: 425-704-2343
Message: This is a test phone message.

If the phone message is sent directly to the Exchange 2000 user, it looks like this:

Test Phone Message

-~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~-
Telephoned, Will Call Again, Left Package, Urgent
Name: Charlie Chung
Company: Microsoft Corporation
Phone: 425-704-2343

-~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~-

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes does not maintain all the information on a phone message form. It also downgrades the Notes phone message to a regular Exchange 2000 rich text format (RTF) message.

When you forward the phone message, all information on the form is placed in the body of the message. Therefore, Exchange Notes Connector does not know which fields need to be mapped to Exchange 2000.

If the phone message is sent directly to the Exchange 2000 client, all the information is mapped correctly in the body of the message.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
