SYMPTOMS

Conference participants that attempt to join an online conference may receive the following Web page error message:

Server Store Not Initialized
The Exchange Conferencing Server is not initialized.

Please try the following:

  • Contact your system administrator. The conference calendar mailbox store may be unavailable.

Conferences today Error #80041038: Unable to get profiles from the conference locator Microsoft Exchange Conferencing.

The following event is also generated within the application log:

Type: Error
Source: MSExchangeCONF
Category: Startup/Shutdown
Event ID: 8212
Description: The Microsoft Exchange Conference Management service could not log on to the Microsoft Exchange Information Store - idling until it can. Error code: 81002746; Message: /o=<Org>/ou=<AG>/cn=<Container>/cn=<conference calendar mailbox>

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conference Management Service is not able to log on to the administrator-defined Site Conference calendar mailbox.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, verify the following items on the computer where the Site Conference mailbox is located:

  1. Verify that the Mailbox Store has been mounted, and that the Information Store has been started.
  2. Ensure that the Site Conference mailbox is not "hidden".
  3. Verify the following permissions for the Site Conference mailbox:
    • Exchange domain servers, Exchange enterprise servers group, and the user should have "Read", "Full mailbox access", and "Send as" rights.
    • Administrators, Domain Administrators, Enterprise Administrators, and SERVERNAME$ should have all permissions except "Full access", "Send as", and "Associated external account."
