SYMPTOMS

Using the Recover Deleted Items feature in Microsoft Outlook, you cannot retrieve individual mail messages that have been placed in a folder and then deleted.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you delete a folder of mail and then empty the Deleted Items folder, you must recover the entire folder in order to retrieve individual mail messages from that folder by using the Recover Deleted Items command. You cannot navigate through folders in the Recover Deleted Items From window.

This scenario applies only to Outlook clients logged on to a computer running Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 with Mail Archive/Retrieval feature enabled.
