PPT98: Viewer Slide Navigation Menu Doesn't Show All Slides

Article ID: 251345

Article Last Modified on 7/19/2001

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 98 for Macintosh Viewer

This article was previously published under Q251345

SYMPTOMS

If your presentation contains more than 60 slides, and you point to Go and then click By Title on the Slide Navigation menu, you may not be able to see all of the slide titles in the list that appears.

NOTE: To see the Slide Navigation menu, hold down CONTROL and click the presentation while viewing it in Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer.

CAUSE

This is a design limitation. The viewer cannot show more than 60 slides in the By Title menu list.

MORE INFORMATION

PowerPoint Viewer does not provide a Slide Navigator dialog box with a scrollable list of slide titles, like PowerPoint 97 for Windows does during a slide show. The Slide Show feature in PowerPoint uses Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications to implement the Slide Navigator. Because PowerPoint Viewer does not support Visual Basic for Applications, the Slide Navigator feature does not exist in PowerPoint Viewer.
