SYMPTOMS The QuickC editor will not allow you to write to column 256. Although the cursor can be set to column 256, a character cannot be typed there.

RESOLUTION The maximum number of characters the buffer can hold is 255. The cursor moves after each insertion, including the last one. Because the buffer is now full, the cursor cannot move any further, and no more characters can be entered.
