This article was previously published under Q251169

NOTE: The information in this article applies to the German version%3 of Office 2000.

When you manually hyphenate German-language words, two question marks may appear instead of the hyphen in the hyphenated word.

This problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:

  • You are using pre-reform spelling rules.

  • You chose to place a hyphen in the letter combination "ck".

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
