SYMPTOMS

When you change your flight plan's waypoints during a flight and then save those changes, the flight restarts from the originating airport.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use the GPS instrument panel to change your flight plan during a flight:

  1. In Flight Simulator 2000, point to Instrument Panel on the Views menu, and then click GPS.
  2. At the top of the GPS instrument panel, click D (the GPS Direct To button), and then use one of the following methods:
    • To redirect your flight to any destination in the world:
      1. Click the left or right arrow on the GPS instrument panel to select the type of your new destination (Airport, VOR, NDB, or Intersection).
      2. Click the down arrow on the GPS instrument panel to change focus to the new destination ID.
      3. Click the left or right arrow on the GPS instrument panel to select the new destination ID.
      4. Click Enter.
    • To redirect your flight to a nearby destination:
      1. Click D again to switch the GPS panel display to the Emergency screen.
      2. Click the up or down arrow on the GPS instrument panel to select your new destination.
      3. Click Enter.
