SYMPTOMS

When you create a "connectoid" (client connection) and enable the Record a Log file for this Connection option, if you build an Internet Service Provider (ISP) no-signup package and import the connection settings, after you install this package on a Windows 98 client, the Record a Log file for this Connection check box is not selected.

CAUSE

When you import connection settings to Windows 98, even if the Record a Log File for this Connection check box has been selected, the setting is not imported.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
