SUMMARY

When creating a form in Word, use the following steps to create fields that will be underlined:

  1. Set a tab to where the field will end.
  2. Press the TAB key at the start of the field.
  3. Use the LEFT ARROW key to return to the tab mark.
  4. Press Format Character and set the “underline:” field to Yes.

This process is not specific to the Form Generation feature of Word versions 4.00 and 5.00 but works equally well with earlier versions of Word when designing a form with underlined fields.
