This article describes how to determine whether the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is installed on your computer.

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type Regedit and then click OK.
  3. Look for the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DataAccess\FullInstallVer

If the key is located in the registry, the computer has the MDAC installed.
