OL98: Unable to Change Password Without Server Name

SYMPTOMS

Outlook allows you to change the domain password in Outlook. However, to successfully change the password, you must enter the Microsoft Exchange Server name in the Change Password dialog box. This information can be extracted from the user profile.

CAUSE

Outlook doesn't parse the user profile to get the Exchange Server name.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
