When you attempt to place your Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)-based computer in Standby mode, or your computer attempts to goes into Standby mode, it may not do so as expected.<br />

This behavior can occur if you are using an Intel PRO/100+ (or similar) Ethernet adapter and you have temporarily disabled the adapter in Device Manager.<br />

To resolve this issue, re-enable the Ethernet adapter; to do so, follow these steps:<br />

# Double-click the adapter that you want.<br />
