SYMPTOMS
When you save your workbook, you receive the following error message:
If you click Cancel, you receive an error message similar to the following
where File name
is the name of the file that you are trying to save and Hexadecimal file name
is the name under which the file is saved, such as 4CCA4100.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
- You click a hyperlink to a Microsoft Excel workbook.
-and-
- The workbook is opened inside of Internet Explorer.
-and-
- You are running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 on one of the following platforms:
- Microsoft Windows 95
- Microsoft Windows 98
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
