SYMPTOMS
When you try to save a document on a disk with very low disk space, the save operation may fail, and you receive the following error message:
When you close the document without saving changes, the document may be deleted from the disk.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
IMPORTANT NOTE: SR-1 only fixes the problem of the file being deleted. You can still receive the error message when you try to save a file to a nearly full disk.
