OL2000: (CW) No Message Generated When Attempting to Use Microsoft Exchange Conference Resource Without Permissions

With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".


SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to send a meeting request for a Microsoft Exchange Conference Resource for which you do not have permissions, Outlook does not generate an error message, nor does it send your request. The meeting dialog box also remains open. If you close the dialog box, you receive a prompt to save your changes.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
