SYMPTOMS
During the installation of Visual J++ 6.0 you receive the error message:
This happens at the end of setup during the "setup is updating your system" phase of the installation.
RESOLUTION
Find the file named Atl.dll located in either C:\Windows\system or C:\Winnt\system32, and rename the file to Atl.old. Copy the Ansi version of Atl.dll from Drive:\OS\system\ansi directory of the Visual J++ CD.
- From the Start button select Run.
- Type regsvr32 atl.dll and press Enter. A message will display that the Dllregister server succeeded. Click OK.
- Reinstall Visual J++
