This article was previously published under Q249503

SUMMARY

When you are creating an expiration policy on an NNTP virtual server, there is no message that advises that this expiration policy only applies to virtual directories on the NTFS file system, not on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server information store.

MORE INFORMATION

To set expiration policies on an NNTP virtual server that is mapped to an information store:

  1. Start Exchange System Manager, and locate the public folder in question.
  2. Right-click the folder, click Properties, and then click the Limits tab.

Here you can set individual age limits and deletion settings specific to this folder or use the public folder defaults, which are set in the public folder store properties.
