SUMMARY

In Microsoft Outlook, you have the ability to manage your e-mail messages by using rules to automatically perform actions on messages. After you create a rule, Outlook applies the rule when messages arrive in your Inbox or when you send a message. For example, you can automatically forward all messages sent by John Doe to your manager when they arrive in your inbox.

However in Outlook Web Access (OWA), the Rules Manager is not available. Therefore, you cannot create, modify, or delete any client-based rules. Server-based rules continue to work normally because they don't require the Outlook client to be open in order to process the rules.

MORE INFORMATION

The ability to create, modify, or delete client-based rules in OWA is planned for a future version of OWA.
