SYMPTOMS

When you print a Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 presentation that contains multiple masters, all of the printed slides display the same master.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because PowerPoint 2000 recognizes only the first slide master in the master list when it prints the slides.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:

  • Enable PowerPoint to keep the design when copying slides between presentations.
    1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
    2. In the Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab. NOTE: This tab is visible only if you have multiple masters in a presentation.


    1. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Keep design when copying slides between presentations check box.
  • Turn off background printing.
    1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
    2. In the Options dialog box, click the Print tab.
    3. On the Print tab, click to clear the Background printing check box.


STATUS

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
