SYMPTOMS
When you insert slides from a PowerPoint 2000 or PowerPoint 97 presentation into another PowerPoint 2000 presentation, the macro virus warning message does not appear even if one of the slides being inserted has a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro project attached to it.
CAUSE
You cannot transfer presentation-level VBA projects from one presentation to another by inserting slides; therefore, when you insert slides from a file, PowerPoint does not scan the file for macros.
Note however, if you put an ActiveX control on a slide, PowerPoint creates a special VBA project that is contained within the slide and not the presentation. This project is named Slide n, where n is the index position the slide had when you added the ActiveX control. Because it is part of the slide, and not the presentation, PowerPoint adds this slide project into your presentation when you insert the slide.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
