SYMPTOMS

When preparing a online broadcast in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, you may receive the following error message:

Logon Failure: Invalid user or bad password.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when either of the following conditions is true:

• Your user name is not part of the NetShow Administrators group on the NetShow server you are attempting to connect to.
• System policies may be enabled that restrict the NetShow Administrators group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem you must add your user name to the NetShow Administrators group on the NetShow server.

If there are policies enabled on this server that restrict the NetShow Administrators group, you may try adding your user name to the Administrators group to resolve this problem.
