FIX: Date Fields Display Incorrectly When Time Dimension is Based on Fact Table

Article ID: 248612

Article Last Modified on 3/14/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft SQL Server OLAP Services

This article was previously published under Q248612

BUG #: 4483 (PLATO7X)

SYMPTOMS

When a time dimension is based on the fact table, an addition or change to the rows in the fact table's datetime column may cause problems after an incremental processing of the cube. The date order may not be correct for the modified rows when you view the data.

This is not an issue if the time dimension is based on a table other then the fact table for the cube.

WORKAROUND

To avoid this problem, incrementally update or refresh the time dimension before you process the cube.

STATUS
