SYMPTOMS

When you view or preview a Web Album that you created in Microsoft Picture It! 2000, you may receive an error message similar to the following in the main frame of the Web page:

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

NOTE: The content of the error message may differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and the version of your Web browser.

If you click one of the thumbnail pictures, the picture is displayed normally on the page.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:

  • You selected the Thumbnails and pictures layout for your Web Album.
  • You selected the Flowers template for your Web Album.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue:

  1. Start Picture It! 2000.
  2. If you receive the Helpful Movies dialog box, click Close.
  3. In the Getting Started dialog box, click the Project Template icon.
  4. On the Projects tab, point to Web, and then click Web Album.
  5. In the left pane, click Open a picture.
  6. In the If you don't see the pictures you want, look in box, browse to the folder that contains the picture that you want, click to select the folder, click to select the picture that you want in the right pane, and then click Open.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to select a second picture.
  8. In the left pane, click Thumbnails and pictures.
  9. In the right pane, click the Flowers template, and then click Next.
  10. To work on a picture, follow the instructions in the left pane. When you are finished, click Next.
  11. In the left pane, click Save as a Web page (HTML).
  12. In the Click a folder box, click Desktop.
  13. In the Type a name box, type the name that you want for your Web Album, and then click Save.
  14. On the desktop, double-click the saved Web Album folder.
  15. Click the Album.htm file.
  16. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you right-click the Album.htm file, and then click Open with.
  17. Under Choose the program you want to use, click Notepad, and then click OK.
  18. Locate the following line of HTML code:

    <FRAME SRC="page.htm" NAME=bigpicture FRAMEBORDER=0>
                        
  19. Select the following text,

    page.htm

    and then type page1.htm.

    The line of HTML code should now appear as follows:

    <FRAME SRC="page1.htm" NAME=bigpicture FRAMEBORDER=0>
                        
  20. On the File menu, click Save.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Picture It! 2000.
