SYMPTOMS
When you start the New Team Solutions Wizard on an Access Workflow Designer development computer and move from the Welcome page to the Choosing a Template page, the wizard stops responding for up to a minute before it continues.
CAUSE
Your client computer has a SQL Server client with an additional network library that the server has not been configured to use.
Microsoft SQL Server client computers and server computers communicate by using a network library. By default, installing Microsoft SQL Server onto a server computer also installs the named pipes and multiprotocol network libraries.
If you install an additional network library onto a Microsoft SQL Server client that has not been installed on the server computer, you can experience slow communications. For example, you install the NWLink IPX/SPX network library on an Access Workflow Designer development computer. This development computer, a client, connects to a Microsoft SQL Server computer by using the named pipes and multiprotocol network libraries. Consequently, if you then start the New Team Solutions Wizard on the development computer and move from the Welcome page to the Choosing a Template page, the wizard may stop responding for up to a minute before it continues.
RESOLUTION
If your server or client is configured to use extra libraries that are not needed, remove the libraries to avoid this behavior.
